Cargolux bans transport of disposable e-cigarettes

Cargolux has decided to ban the transport of disposable electronic cigarettes on all its flights, including those operated by Cargolux Italia. This measure comes in response to growing concern about the adverse effects of these products on both public health and the environment. Disposable e-cigarettes pose a significant risk to human health, particularly for younger generations, given their targeted marketing with attractive flavors. Additionally, these devices contain lithium batteries which, as they are not recyclable, become an environmental risk if not properly disposed of. Several countries have already imposed bans on these products in their territories.

Securing offtake and investment – Norsk e-Fuel closes milestone agreements

Norsk e-Fuel is proud to announce major partnership milestones by closing significant agreements on offtake and investment. Two international airlines – Norwegian Air Shuttle and Cargolux Airlines International S.A. have committed to purchase fossil free aviation fuel. Luxcargo Handling S.A. to take over Luxair’s Ramp and Cargo Handling activities

Cargolux is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Luxcargo Handling S.A., LCH, has been awarded a license for ramp handling at Luxembourg airport. The decision was announced following a tender process for two ground handling licenses. This license also permits LCH, to handle third party airlines. LCH will take over Luxair’s ramp and warehouse handling operations at Luxembourg’s Findel airport.

Luxembourg, 13 June 2023 – Cargolux became the first airline to uplift SAF at Luxembourg’s Findel airport, a significant milestone in the vital journey to decarbonization. Cargolux, lux-Airport, World Fuel Services and Neste, four future-driven partners joined forces to secure the first delivery of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Luxembourg airport. The bio-based fuel was delivered to Luxembourg airport’s fuel farm via NATO’s Central European Pipeline System (CEPS).
