Aquarius Aerial Firefighting aircraft involved in accident

Luxembourg, 19 June 2025 – Cargolux confirms that there was an accident involving one of Aquarius Aerial Firefighting’s (AFF) aircraft on deployment in Türkiye. The aircraft, an Air Tractor AT-802F Fire Boss, registration number LX-AFE, was active on a firefighting mission when the accident occurred whilst scooping water. Both the AFF pilot and the Turkish observer on board were able to evacuate the aircraft unassisted. No fatalities were incurred. The occupants were rescued by a police boat and taken to the hospital for observation and evaluation. AFF is committed to fully cooperating with all relevant authorities in respect of this accident.
