In a world where small is beautiful, airfreight undoubtedly represents a notable exception. In air cargo transportation, big pieces are the most impressive type of freight. Everything about them is off-size: the dimensions, the loading and offloading equipment and, above all, the aircraft it takes to transport them.
At Cargolux, pieces exceeding a length of 600 cm, a height or width of 240 cm are considered as "off-size". Pieces heavier than 10,000 kg are considered "heavy". Our aircraft can accommodate freight as high as 300 cm, and we have regularly handled shipments wider than 340 cm and longer than 20 m.
