What are the growth expectations of the cargo market?

The air freight market has seen almost constant growth for the past decades, exceeding the overall growth of the world economy. Between 1995 and today the industry recorded an average annual growth rate of about 6%, and for the next 20 years further growth is expected, at a rate of 6 to 6,5% per year.

These figures are based on estimates calculated by Merge-Global, Boeing and Airbus, taking into account of global economic growth, current trends in the globalization of the economy, the liberalization of world trade and of the air transport sector, developments in consumer demand and the deployment of lean inventory strategy on a global basis.
