| CARGOLUX EXTENDS SERVICE TO KENYA Luxembourg, 23 August, 2004 – On 21 July, Cargolux Airlines International S.A. inaugurated its new weekly flight via Eldoret/Kenya. CV 7162 is operated every Tuesday from Luxembourg via Beirut and Sharjah, with arrival in Eldoret on Wednesday afternoon at 15.15h. Departure from Eldoret is at 18.15h on same day and continues as CV 7173 to Maastricht via Nairobi, with arrival in Nairobi at 19.15. From there, the aircraft departs at midnight and arrives in Maastricht 07.00h on Thursday morning, before returning to Luxembourg. Transported on board Cargolux’s new flight to Eldoret are mostly electronics, textiles, and garments from the United Arab Emirates, and from Nairobi, flower and perishable shipments to Maastricht. The local community of Eldoret greatly appreciates Cargolux’s new service. For Cargolux, it is a re-affirmation of its long-term commitment to Africa and to the people and the economy of Kenya. Eldoret is the agricultural capital of Kenya, and it is the main producer of the country’s wheat, maize, and dairy products. Eldoret International Airport was commissioned in 1998 and is situated close to the equator, with elevation of 6941 ft. Cargolux’s Africa service now includes five flights via Nairobi, with one flight via Eldoret, three flights via Johannesburg/South Africa, two flights via Kinshasa/Dem.Rep.of Congo, and one flight each via Abidjan/Ivory Coast, Accra/Ghana, Lagos/Nigeria, and Reunion.
