Cargolux to Kinshasa

Luxembourg, 8 January 2004 – Cargolux Airlines International S.A. introduced a new African destination late last year with a weekly B747-400 freighter flight to Kinshasa.

Every Friday, CV7145 serves the Congolese capital en route to Johannesburg. The flight then continues to Nairobi and Maastricht before it returns to Luxembourg on Sundays as CV7156, arriving at 8.35 a.m. local time.

The Democratic Republic of Congo, the former Zaire, is one of the largest countries on the continent with rich natural resources. Kinshasa will initially be an import station for Cargolux, mainly for freight from Europe, the USA, the Gulf region, India and some Asian countries.

Cargolux is represented in Kinshasa by Cargolink, its general sales agent in Congo. Mr. Carlos Achkar is responsible for the Cargolux operation there. Mr. Achkar has formerly worked for Cargolux in Luxembourg and has gained in-depth experience with the company’s operation in Africa.
