| Cargolux Signs Financing Agreement Representatives of the US Ex-Im Bank, the European Investment Bank, EIB, the ING Bank and Landesbank Kiel as well as Cargolux?s CFO David Arendt today signed a financing agreement for the twelfth Cargolux B747-400F. The agreement was signed during a ceremony at the premises of the Ex-Im Bank in Washington, D.C. It marks the first cooperation between the Ex-Im Bank and the EIB and is an important step in the development of business relations between Luxembourg and the United States. The ceremony was witnessed by Luxembourg?s Minister of Transport and Economy, Henri Grethen, Luxembourg?s Ambassador to the US, Madame Arlette Conzemius, the US Ambassador in Luxembourg, Peter Terpeluk, the head of the Benelux Credit Department of EIB, Mr. Delsing, and representatives from Boeing, engine manufacturer Rolls Royce and Cargolux. Mr. Grethen?s attendance underlines the interest of the Luxembourg government in Cargolux?s acquisition of a new B747-400 freighter. Added to the company?s fleet of modern, environmentally friendly aircraft, the new freighter will boost Cargolux?s competitiveness on its international network. The choice of Rolls Royce engines, with its proven reduction in fuel consumption, noise emissions and pollution, is a clear statement of Cargolux?s interest in environmental issues. The new B747-400F, registered LX -TCV and named ?City of Sandweiler? leaves Seattle on its delivery flight to Luxembourg on 22 August. The mayor of Sandweiler, Mr. John Breuskin, will be on board of the inaugural flight. LX-TCV is the twelfth B747-400 freighter delivered new to Cargolux by Boeing since November 1993.
