Cargolux and the Environment

Cargolux is committed to growing with the smallest possible impact on the environment and the communities living around the airports on its network.

This is of particular importance at its home base of Luxembourg, where an average of 12 to 14 aircraft movements (landing and take-off) take place every day.

For many years, Cargolux has sought to operate the most environmentally and economically efficient aircraft, and has consistently invested in the best available technology. In addition, the company has developed methods to reduce nuisances even further.

Destination Zukunft
Was Cargolux heute
für die Zukunft von morgen tut

Cargolux published in March 2006 its latest book on aviation and the enviornment.
In "Destination Zukunft" Cargolux explains how thanks to the progress made by the aviation sector in reducing its impact on the environment, it is able to operate efficiently while maintaining both its noise and atmospheric emissions at reasonable levels.

The book provides a step-by-step explanation of the many factors that have made today’s airplanes quiet and energy-efficient. It also details the many procedures that Cargolux implements on a day-by-day basis to operate even more quietly and efficiently. It further points to the important research efforts that are currently undertaken by the scientific community, including in Luxembourg, to further increase the efficiency and reduce noise emissions of future aircraft generations.

“Destination Zukunft”, written in German language, is easy to understand and will be of interest both to young readers and more mature audiences. It is beautifully illustrated by one of Belgiums most talented illustrators of today, Philippe Cruyt.
