HEAD OF GROUND TRAINING

Task responsibilities:

  • Ensure that ground training requirements are scoped and develop training programs for ground staff to receive relevant/adequate qualification;
  • In coordination with Ground Standards & Procedures, ensure that training programs are aligned with regulatory requirements;
  • In coordination with Area Heads of Operations, adequately schedule ground training;
  • Coordinate the needs for adhoc training with Area Heads of Operations;
  • Ensure alignment with instructor(s) located in the Areas, for the entire network to be trained to the same standards;
  • In coordination with Standards & Procedures, review and maintain training programs and material to ensure that all operational aspects are covered and that they remain updated as necessary to remain relevant;
  • Ensure training records are retained and maintained, as required by Regulations;
  • Ensure that Pelesys is maintained as required;
  • Promote ground training;
  • In coordination with Standards & Procedures, map ground training processes;
  • In coordination with Standards & Procedures, assess training-related risks;
  • In coordination with Standards & Procedures, ensure that operational changes are disseminated and understood;
  • Establish a system to periodically assess the effectiveness of training; establish and maintain training key performance indicators; continuously improve the service;
  • Ensure GDP compliance by:
  • - Ensuring ground staff remains qualified, as required;
    - Assisting/following-up on findings from QCM audits and inspections
  • Support the CLX SMS by ensuring the SMS becomes integrated into the day-to-day business decision-making;
  • Coordinate annual reports with Corporate Training;
  • Scope and coordinate ground training projects; develop training material for allocated projects;
  • Assess Nextgen Training methods/tools

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience within the air cargo industry or with a major airline / forwarder
  • Experience in a similar position is considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge & experience on ground operations
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods
  • Able to achieve goals & objectives within timeframe
  • Able to identify and assess current/future training needs
  • Able to manage training costs
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Master degree (2 year program) in Educational Sciences or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a training supervisor is mandatary
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage

Working Conditions:

  • Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
  • Position based in Luxembourg
