| 1974 - The first hangar Only a month after Cargolux had taken over the Loftleiðir Maintenance & Engineering in Luxembourg, Cargolux signed a contract for the construction of a new hangar and head office complex at the Luxembourg Airport. The maintenance department actually began using the new hangar at the end of December 1974, however, it was only in April 1975 that the building was completed and Cargolux took possession of the new facilities. On 28 April, the hangar was formally opened by the Minister of Transport and Economics, Mr. Marcel Mart, and blessed by the airport chaplain. |
